Your Affordable Safari Lodge is situated in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve near Kruger Park. It covers 60,000ha on either side of the Klaserie River, and shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park. The reserve is situated right in the middle of Big Five country and you are sure to see many animals, including antelope and many birds.
How to Get There
Options include a 1 hour flight from Johannesburg or a 2.5 hour flight from Cape Town to Hoedspruit (Eastgate) Airport followed by a 30 minute road transfer to the lodge.
For those wanting to self-drive, the lodge is a 6 hour drive from Johannesburg.
Directions from Johannesburg (± 6 hours)
- N12 toward Witbank
- N4 toward Nelspruit, turn off onto R33 at Belfast
- Turn onto R540 via Dullstroom and Lydenburg
- R36 via Ohrigstad and the JG Strijdom tunnel
- R527 via Hoedspruit
- Drive through Hoedspruit until you reach a T-junction
- Turn right onto R40 towards White River
- Drive about 6.5 km (4 miles); turn left at the “Timbavati Eastgate Airport” sign
- Sign in at the anti-poaching gate
- Continue on the tarred road for 18.2km until you reach the Klaserie / Timbavati gate
- A cash entrance fee is payable at the gate
- Continue for 8.3km (5 miles) and turn left at the “Joubertshoop” sign onto the farm
- Follow the dirt road, past the staff village of grey rondavels on your right
- As you see the lodge on your left the road forks, keep left
