For a shorter route you can also arrive by air. Eastgate Airport is ideally located only minutes from the Kapama Private Game Reserve. A 4x4 Kapama safari vehicle will transfer you to and from the airport free of charge. The flight from Johannesburg to Eastgate Airport takes about an hour.
Directions from Johannesburg
Take the N1/N4 from Johannesburg via Witbank and Middleburg towards Nelspruit.
Turn left on the R540 towards Belfast.
In centre of town turn right (There will be a Total Garage on your left-hand side) to Dullstroom and then on to Lyndenburg.
Pass through Lyndenburg taking the R36 to Ohrigstad, through the Strijdom Tunnel to Hoedspruit.
Once through Hoedspruit, turn right at the T-Junction onto the R40 to Klaserie / Bushbuck Ridge.
Continue along the R40 (past the Eastgate Airport turn off don't turn left) until you reach the River Lodge on your left-hand side.
