Kapama Karula Lodge is located in the Kapama Private Game Reserve which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa. Surrounded by pristine African bush, you can look forward to relaxing in a tranquil and scenic environment.
The Kapama Private Game Reserve is home to South Africa's Big Five, namely Lion, Rhino, Elephant, Leopard and Buffalo. You can easily self drive to Kapama Karula Lodge from Johannesburg. Flights are also available from OR Tambo International Airport to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA).
Driving from Johannesburg, take the N12 or N4 towards Witbank and Middelburg. From Middelburg, take the R540 towards Belfast, Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Once in Lydenburg, take the R36 to Orighstad through the Strydom Tunnel.
Continue along the R527 until you see a signpost to Orpen. Turn right onto the R531and drive for about 28km (17.39 miles) towards the Klaserie Game Reserve. You will pass under a bridge. Almost immediately after this, you need to turn left onto the R40 towards Hoedspruit.
After about 1km (0.62 miles), you will see a sign towards Kapama Karula Lodge. Turn right and follow the road for about 7.5km (4.66 miles). As the tar road ends, continue along the dirt road for another 2.4km (1.49 miles) until you reach a Kapama Karula Lodge sign post.
Turn left and continue through the main gate for about 2km (1.24 miles). You will pass over a cattle grid. Continue straight until you reach the Kapama Karula Lodge signpost on your right. Turn right here and follow the signs to Kapama Karula Lodge.
