Jackalberry Safari Lodge is located in the Thornybush Game Reserve, South Africa. Thornybush Game Reserve is situated adjacent to the Greater Kruger National Park and offers guests a diverse range of bird and wildlife. Guests can access Jackalberry Lodge either by road or air.
Flights are available from OR Tambo International Airport to Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit. Guests can arrange for a road transfer to Thornybush Game Reserve. The flight from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit will take about an hour while the road transfer will take about 25 minutes.
How to get to Jackalberry Safari Lodge
Directions from Johannesburg
From Johannesburg, turn left off the N4 towards Belfast. Proceed to Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Take the R36 to Orighstad and through the Strijdom Tunnel. Take the R531 / R527 to Hoedspruit and continue through the town over the railway bridge to the four way stop.
Turn left onto the R40 towards Klaserie. After about 25km (15.53 miles) turn left onto the Klaserie / Cheetah In Road. Slow down after passing the Cheetah Inn as the road becomes a sand road. Continue until you reach a T-junction.
At the T-junction, turn right. Take care as this road can become very bad when wet. The Jackalberry Gate is situated about 2km (1.24 miles) on the left hand side. Once you're in the reserve, follow the signs to Jackalberry Safari Lodge.
